Assisted Suicide/Euthanasia around the world.

Many people have seen someone suffer or in pain. Doctors believe by assisting suicide they are relieving the patient from all its pain. Normally any person would think that they are relieving them from pain but really assisted suicide is murder and it should be illegal in all countries.

Where do countries stand in assisted suicide/euthanasia?

Canada- assisted suicide and euthanasia is illegal.
Netherlands- was the first country to legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia in 2002. Although it is legal there are strict orders that assisted suicide is only allowed for those that are terminally ill and are incurable.
Belgium- was the second country to legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia in 2002. They are allowed to assist upon a patients wish.
France- euthanasia and assisted suicide is illegal.
United states- euthanasia is illegal however doctors are allowed to prescribe lethal drugs ad medication to the terminally ill. This is only allowed in 5 states. Oregon was the first state to allow assisted suicide in 1997.
Germany- assisted suicide is legal as long at the lethal drug is taken without any help.
Switzerland- allows assisted suicide as long as the drug is taken without any help.

Every person’s story is different sometimes assisted suicide is needed but usually it’s just a patients choice. It’s a choice that they don’t really want to make but end up making it to take the weight off their family. In my opinion assisted suicide should be illegal all around the world because every person has the right to live and die naturally even when they are terminally ill. There are drugs out there that do help slow down the illness which can give more time for the patient to spend time with their family. In today’s society assisted suicide has a lot of compromise where it is believed that it is accepted in today’s world.
